It’s finally here folks! J.Davinci’s breakout album “The Day The Turf Stood Still”. There isn’t a project out of the Bay Area right now that reps the streets in a more dynamic, rugged and introspective light than J.DaVinci. His narratives of block hustling, tragedy and triumph go perfect with his guttural tone and leaning rhyme scheme. We’ve told you about J.Davinci in our 24KMilkcrate TV episodes 1 + 2.  This is not a project to be missed or slept upon. GET UP ON MAGIC!!!

Vid- Da Evangillest feat. Bambu “Goons”

Chasen Paper, 9 March, 2010

Frisco emcee Da Evangillest teamed up with Bambu to give you this video offering. For some reason I feel there was another version of this song floating around with a different beat. Dex on the beats.

Alexander Spit keeps parties rocking and moving like ships in the panama canal. Eloquent with

beats, turn tables and most of all on the microphone, his LA to SF and back again Cali work ethic is singed and sealed with molten gold. His arrival back in L.A couldn’t have been at a better time. If you didn’t catch him at “On The Rox” with Dom Kenddedy, Carter, and Freddie Gibbs in L.A last week, find him in Atlanta or Miami for the Winter Music Conference later this month. Get on magic.

24Karat Milkcrate has telling you about JBillion for a year. He’s clutch if you want a performer that does

the thing opposite of sleeping pills to people, if that thing were your name spelled out in cocaine on mirrored glass. He’s making more nose than jet engines echoing off skyscrapers. It’s time for him to be everywhere. He’s got music to make shows to rock and asses to kick. Trust us, he’s done it for 24Karat Milkcrate many times. It makes complete sense for these two to do a collaboration and for 24Karat MilkCrate to be presenting it to you. Get your new music monday fix on. Press the download button and listen to it if you’re at work, chilling, or have a pulse in your body at this moment.

The Drop Trailer For 24Karat Milkcrate Presents: Alexander Spit “Long Awaited” Featuring J-Billion

The funny thing about this video is that I’ve watched it 1,000 times at the old work spot but it was with the sound off. So it’s still new to me.

Fix Up: Nike SB “Wallenberg” Dunk Low

Chasen Paper, 6 March, 2010

My child hood high school Wallenberg in San Francisco was always one of the wickedest skate spots in S.F. In honor of this iconic skate capitol made famous world wide by skate videos Nike made an SB Dunk Low inspired by the palm tree that thrives on second step. These right here go hard!

“The Palm Tree at the foot of the 2nd step of the Big 4 at Raoul Wallenberg Alternative School in San Francisco has played a supporting role in skateboarding since 1990. My Nike SB Dunk Low colorway is inspired by this little tree’s “Twenty Year Anniversary” in 2010/2011. Throughout the mid 90’s the tree made in appearance in most of the best skate videos of the era. Dudes were getting tech using the bottom stair as a low ledge and the second stair as a high ledge. The tree grew. In the early 2000’s people started hucking themselves down the 4, pulling tricks that would have been impressive down the first stair ten years earlier. Over the decade the tree has grown larger, like the skating going on around it. The colorway draws a palette from the palm tree itself while utilizing hemp for the Swoosh. The white midsole represents the step and has a visible “waxed ledge” around the top of it, just like that step at Wallenberg. Lastly, the insoles each contain a pixelated image of the palm tree itself, giving a nod to all of the times it has appeared in skate videos over the years.”

When The Hundrends backed LA/Bay Area emcee Alexander Spit contacted us about dropping his song “Long Awaited” featuring J-Billion through 24KMILKCRATE.COM we jumped at the chance. We’ve been lucky enough to gain the attention and support of more than a few extremely skilled artists in hip hop and Alexander Spit assuredly falls under the same category. The multi-talented lyricist also whiped up his own production for “Long Awaited” that he and J-Billion easily take command over. The best things come to those who wait. And this shit here, has been “LONG AWAITED”.  (Art work below)

Vid-Xitanos Matematikos “Aviator Shades”

Chasen Paper, 19 February, 2010

As a head growing up I loved music of the conscious “positive” categorization and shunned anything remotely “mainstream”. Now a days to me if something is dope, its dope regardless of it’s class or what marketing conceived catalog it belongs in. The Bay Area based group Xitanos Matematikos makes music that takes me back to when I’d buy tapes (yea tapes foo!)  off cats in front of record stores like Wherehouse, Tower, Amoeba or at the transit stations and go home and analyze every line and rhyme scheme. It’s ill to see cats making music in that vein, it’s an oft neglected style of hip hop these days. You know the side that uses the music for the transmission of knowledge. My favorite thing about them is the cats look like they’re having fun with their style and express themselves artistically and aren’t on a, “I just went to college and finally learned that everything I was taught about the world was a lie and now I’m PISSED.” activist tip. Check them out yo & GET UP ON MAGIC!
