TiRon “MSTRD”

Chasen Paper, 4 June, 2010

Download Here: TiRon’s “Mustard”

Finally TiRon’s much anticipated “MSTRD” it’s been near a year coming. And from what I’ve heard so far TiRon does not disappoint. Mucho props.

Numonics has beats and I’m sure being presented by the massive clothing label IMKING doesn’t hurt either. But he’s been gearing up for his “Being Cool Doesn’t Pay The Bills” album dropping this week, so consider this a taster.

“Due to scheduling conflicts, my debut album “Being Cool Doesn’t Pay The Bills” will be released later in the week. For those anticipating the album’s release today, I put together a special instrumental mix featuring brand new beats, ones that didn’t make the project and a few that you maybe familiar with.”

ALEXANDER SPIT’S TRACK “LONG AWAITED” FEATURING J-BILLION WILL BE UP FOR DOWNLOAD HERE ON 24KMILKCRATE.COM MARCH 8th! CHECK THE VIDEO DROP & GET UP ON MAGIC!

Shot by Jan Ferrer @ The Hundreds on Rosewood

When The Hundrends backed LA/Bay Area emcee Alexander Spit contacted us about dropping his song “Long Awaited” featuring J-Billion through 24KMILKCRATE.COM we jumped at the chance. We’ve been lucky enough to gain the attention and support of more than a few extremely skilled artists in hip hop and Alexander Spit assuredly falls under the same category. The multi-talented lyricist also whiped up his own production for “Long Awaited” that he and J-Billion easily take command over. The best things come to those who wait. And this shit here, has been “LONG AWAITED”.  (Art work below)

Smooth Jazz Messy Marv?

Chasen Paper, 3 March, 2010

Messy Marv aka The Boy Boy Young Mess recently launched his clothing/entertainment lifestyle company’s “Scalen LLC” website which features the Fillmore stalwart lampin’ coast side in Miami Beach leaning like no tomorrow to a smooth jazz redux of his jams. This may be major left field for most people familiar to Messy’s “Mobb/Turf Hop” sound until after you consider what “Mr. Playing With My Nose” is known for. Then his Ocean Drive re-vamp doesn’t seem so strange. Of course there are the very dubious and un-original shirt designs that feature sayings like “I Get High On My Own Supply” and some extremely unflattering posters of himself cavorting with a broad (pictured below). Sure it’s vulgar but what else did you expect? If you’ve never been a fan of Messy you might be quick to write it off. Even I haven’t listened to a Mess album since “Bandannas, Tattoos & Tongue Rings” in 2005, because I didn’t see any change or growth in his style. But I love that album for what it was and I’ll still knock it to this day! Still there are parts of this site that are completely incongruous to the initial image of refined hood class initially portrayed. Maybe this current iteration of Mess will be a serious step to that change of becoming a more refined artist. Or maybe it wont and he will never grow out of that vulgar persona. Still, considering the artist that he is this shit was well executed and fits his character perfectly.

The thing about this front page is the city roll call. Miami, New York, California (his home state), London, Paris, Japan. Japan? The whole country, really? Wouldn’t it make more sense to say Tokyo since you said London & Paris?

Why would a person want to buy a poster of a girl in lingerie with Messy in it? You’d think if you wanted to make money he wouldn’t be in it and just a female with little to nothing on and put “Scalen LLC” on it. Oh well.

YUNG & BLASSTED: HOLLYWOOD HOLT

Chasen Paper, 2 March, 2010

YO it’s HOLLYWOOOOOOOD! It is almost impossible to understand how someone can be fresh at as many things as Chicago based artist Hollywood Holt. He’s a successful Emcee, dance floor rocking Dj, Break Dancer, pool shark, and business owner to name just a few. ( He also rocked one of our earliest parties in SF) Hollywood Holt has more irons in the fire than a Renaissance era blacksmith and he shuffles them all around with mastery. He’s also awesomely BLASSTED, living the supreme freedom of making his living off his creativity  and expressing himself in multiple mediums, even on the canvas of his skin. There are no limits to what home boy can do and whatever he does he’ll do it big and in style.  That’s why Hollywood Holt is the current  feature in the never ending lifestyle of the YUNG & BLASSTED. Stay tuned for more from 24kMilkCrate on Hollywood Holt in the next few days.

Vid-XXL FRESHMAN 2010 #10: JayRock

Chasen Paper, 27 February, 2010

Jay Rock?! I swear some of XXL’S picks be left field as a mo’fucka. Translation, “The choices XXL has selected to represent 2010’s freshman class of emcees are capricious at best and venal at worst.”

Late pass me on this. I know this tape has been a long time coming for Ayomari and he’s a dope artists most definitely worth a listen to.

Skeme really came out of the cut with this, it’s somewhat of a coup to have such huge Dj’s presenting your mixtape. I feel like the cover art could have been a little bit more creative. Still he’s got an ill method to his rhyme.
