A paparazzi turned filmaker he wouldn’t be half as interesting with out the French accent but none the less he was likable enough for Banksy to flip the camera on him and document his kookie-ness. Exit Through the GIft Shop, the first film by renowned graffiti artist Banksy, was a huge success at Sundance 2010. The film tells the true story of how a French shop keeper turned filmmaker attempted to locate and befriend Banksy, only to have the artist turn the camera back on him. The film contains exclusive footage of Banksy, Shepard Fairey, Space Invader and other infamous graffiti artists at work, on walls and in interview. In selected theaters April 16.

Subways, streets, buses, tunnels, billboards, overpasses, roofs, practically everything insight and in the process they ignited an appetite for street art in thousands of inner city and suburban kids. The hunger for their work has only grown through the years as they’ve become more public. That’s why it’s so fresh to see how they have expanded into huge international gallery artists in the past decade.
