This one below is off of Calle 44 in Panama City. There weren’t many original slappers out there to be seen so this is pretty much the one and only.

Damn graf footage pretty much eats all these damn rap videos. It’s the action. It’s real. No pretend acting for the camera. You can almost smell the aerosol paint.

Slappers-Fairfax, Los Angeles

Chasen Paper, 17 April, 2010

Thierry Guetta is a character. A paparazzi turned filmaker he wouldn’t be half as interesting with out the French accent but none the less he was likable enough for Banksy to flip the camera on him and document his kookie-ness. Part life story part street art story, this shit right will be dope. Check the 1 minute mark below for one of the cleanest getaways ever.

Exit Through the GIft Shop, the first film by renowned graffiti artist Banksy, was a huge success at Sundance 2010. The film tells the true story of how a French shop keeper turned filmmaker attempted to locate and befriend Banksy, only to have the artist turn the camera back on him. The film contains exclusive footage of Banksy, Shepard Fairey, Space Invader and other infamous graffiti artists at work, on walls and in interview. In selected theaters April 16.

Growing up and living in Frisco and being into graf art means that you probably idolized Twist and Amaze. They bombed fucking hard. Subways, streets, buses, tunnels, billboards, overpasses, roofs, practically everything insight and in the process they ignited an appetite for street art in thousands of inner city and suburban kids. The hunger for their work has only grown through the years as they’ve become more public. That’s why it’s so fresh to see how they have expanded into huge international gallery artists in the past decade. In this MTN Diaries piece below they document the creation of Twist and Amaze’s crazy crushed and up turned construction vans as they prepare and instillation for a show in Lyon, France.
