& if you haven’t seen Dom Kennedy’s “1997″, Get Up On Magic!

The I dig the sparseness and coloring on this video. Visually to me its saying a lot with a little which is totally at odds with the over kill of cool in todays videos. Dom rocks all black everything with a white sox hat (a la Dr. Dre) in the bright Cali sunshine, the desert flats of California juxtaposed against the mountains, the clean Jordan 7 in the dirt. Everything about this video is simple and perfect so you focus on what matters most, Dom and his rhymes. Props to Top Shelf Company on the direction. Get up on Magic!

Remember Dom Kennedy’s FutureStreet/DrugSounds mixtape? Now.. Remember the song, “Where I Belong”? Well, believe it or not, this young Chicago talent that goes by the name of Brandun Deshay, produced that smooth cut. Get this, he’s directly mentored by Charles Hamilton, but that’s besides the point. Here goes a video by Benjamin Styles promoting Brandun’s new upcoming project, Volume Three, with features including familiar names like Charles Hamilton, Von Pea, Dom Kennedy, Casey Veggies, Overdoz, and a handful of others you might have heard of.
